Q: How do I determine the status of my pending NJDEP permit application?
A:. There are two ways to determine the status of your application:
1. Go to the NJDEP Bulletin website and you can see what actions have been taken on your application. Simply click on the latest PDF Bulletin and then locate your project by your name.

2. Contact Technical Services at (609) 777-0454 and inquire directly as to the status of your permit application. You will need to provide them with your Block, Lot, Township and County of the property in question.
Q: How long is my permit valid for?
A: All NJDEP permits are valid for 5 years from the issuance date. USACOE approvals have an expiration date on them.

Q: Am I required to obtain a local permit for the activities that I have received NJDEP and USACOE approval for?
A: Please contact your local construction official to determine if additional permitting is necessary.
Q: How do I record a copy of my approved permit with the County Clerk's office?
A: In Ocean County Go To
and you will find the contact information. Simply contact them and they will advise
you of the fees and how to go about recording a copy of your NJDEP permit.
For all other Counties search for your County Clerk's office and they will advise you of their procedure.
Q. Do I need a permit to install a Boat Lift or Jet Ski Lift?
A. A Boat Lift and Jet Ski Lift requires a Waterfront Development Permit from the NJDEP and a US Army Corps of Engineers Approval.
Q. Do I need a permit for a floating dock or floating jet ski port if it is only in the water temporarily or seasonally?
A. All floating docks and floating jet ski ports or docks require a permit from the NJDEP and a US Army Corps of Engineers Approval.
